Apple has just issued a statement announcing that Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard has been delayed until October. The reason? iPhone: “we had to borrow some key software engineering and QA resources from our Mac OS X team, and as a result we will not be able to release Leopard at our Worldwide Developers Conference in early June as planned.” However, Apple will still be displaying a “feature complete” version of Leopard at June’s WWDC event, and will be giving beta versions for developers to take home and help put the finishing touches on.
Apple Inc. on Monday said it has sold its 100 millionth iPod in just over five years, making the digital gadget “the fastest selling music player in history.”
Apple’s iTunes online music store has sold more than 2.5 billion songs, 50 million television shows and more than 1.3 million movies.
Apple’s iPod has survived many rivals. Giants like Sony and Microsoft, have tried but so far failed to challenge the device. Most likely new Wi-Fi-enabled Sansa Connect player, which offers computer-free connection to Yahoo music and download services, will not be able to overcome the iPod either.
Flërnk has a great guide on some basic OS X soft for switchers.
I HAVE YET TO SEE a Switcher’s Guide that actually focuses on the Switcher. Most seem more concerned with listing a few personal favorite programs or touting some of the wonderful features of OS X itself. My goal is to simply outline those applications that are not only the most useful, but have direct bearing on the life of those who have recently made the jump from Windows. I will also include links to several Mac-friendly websites as well a few extremely helpful keystrokes.
